Innovation showcase exhibitors announced

Attendees at Venturefest South West 2016 will get to witness some of the most exciting and ground-breaking innovations coming out of the region at the Innovation Showcase. It’s a chance to meet the innovators and companies behind the technology and get up close to cutting-edge prototypes as well as finished products.

We’ve pulled together a round-up of just some of the innovations that will be showcased on the day.

Revolutionising Dairy Cow Health
Agri-tech business eCow specialises in dairy cow health monitoring via wireless boluses (a device in the rumen of the animal that transmits information to a smartphone). eCow will be bringing along Evie The eCow (a life sized plastic cow). Evie will demonstrate eCow’s new product, the Milkalyser which is in development and aims to revolutionise dairy cow fertility management. Founder of eCow Professor Toby Mottram will be sharing his insights at 11.00am as part of the Agri-tech session in the Baxter Suite. Check out our Q&A with Toby here.

Vision of the Future
TruVision specialises in virtual reality for architecture experiences, allowing you to ‘walk around’ a new structure prior to its completion. Venturefest attendees can take part in a virtual reality demo allowing people to experience how virtual reality works allowing them to interact in real time with the house, changing colours, objects and even the time of day.

Making Waves
AutoNaut Ltd will be bringing its five metre wave propelled unmanned surface vessel (USV) which collects oceanic and atmospheric data. Discover how AutoNaut’s innovations have many industry, government and academic applications.

Seiche Ltd, specialists in the design, development and manufacture of underwater acoustic and visual systems, will be bringing sensors to demonstrate how these work with AutoNaut.

Innovators of Tomorrow
Hackfest, an innovation competition that has been running in schools as part of Venturefest South West will, along with FabLab, be showcasing the prototypes the young people made in the project. Some of the technology used including a 3D printer will also be on display.

Face to Face with Technology
TouchByte Ltd will be demonstrating facial recognition technology which is being used for various commercial applications including secure access control for hotel rooms and anonymous footfall and demographic data for retail sectors. Delegates can drop by and experience the technology for themselves, allowing the software to anonymously guess their age!

Exeter-based specialists in online video marketing, Bitpod will be demonstrating a green screen studio setup for attendees to practice their pitch or for visitors who simply want to know how it works. Bitpod has achieved excellent results with promotional & informational projects for commercial customers & the public sector and will be on-hand to answer questions about video solutions for business.
